அஷ்டமி Ashtami

அஷ்டமி என்பது இரண்டு பக்ஷங்களின் 8ஆம் திதி. ஆவணி மாதத்தில் வரும் கிருஷ்ண அஷ்டமி (கிருஷ்ண பக்ஷ அஷ்டமி = 23ஆம் திதி) ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தியாக (ஜன்மாஷ்டமி) கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. அஷ்டமி நாட்கள் காளி/துர்கா தேவி வழிபாட்டிற்கு உரியவை.

Ashtami (அஷ்டமி) is the 8th tithi of both fortnights. Krishna Ashtami (tithi 23, krishna paksha) in the month of Sravana marks Krishna's birth (Janmashtami). Ashtami days are traditionally dedicated to Devi (Kali/Durga) worship.
