Naatkaati's Tamil date, tithi, nakshatram, yogam and karanam are all computed using the centuries-old Vakya (Brahma-siddhantha mean-motion) method. Only the clock-time elements — rahu kalam, yamagandam, kuligai, Gowri muhurtas, and sunrise/sunset — use precise Swiss Ephemeris astronomy, since those are mechanical timings rather than calendar reckoning.

Tamil date, tithi, nakshatram, yogam and karanam are computed using the traditional Vakya method and checked against confirmed real-world Vakya calendars. The clock-time elements — rahu kalam, Gowri muhurtas, sunrise/sunset — are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris library and the Lahiri ayanamsha, accurate to within a minute.
