கார்த்திகை மற்றும் திருவோணம் — இவை திதி அல்ல, நட்சத்திரங்கள் (நக்ஷத்திரங்கள்). சந்திரன் இந்த நட்சத்திரங்களில் நிலை கொள்ளும் நாட்கள் சிறப்பு வழிபாட்டு நாட்களாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றன.
